At JMS Land & Livestock Company, our aim is to maximize the athletic potential of every horse we work with. It's crucial for those in horse training to recognize that every horse possesses some degree of athleticism. Our responsibility is to nurture that talent and position them for success.

Meet Jason Simmons

In his young yet impactful career within the Equine and Agriculture industry, Jason has positioned himself for success. Graduating with honors from Lamar Community College, he earned a degree in Agriculture Business Management and is currently pursuing further education. Among the courses he excelled in are Live Animal and Carcass Evaluation, Basic Agricultural Mechanic Skills, Feeds and Feeding, Introduction to Gas Tungsten Arc Welding, and Welding Practices and Procedures, just to name a few.
Jason’s dedication extends beyond the classroom; he has interned at a prominent horse and cattle ranch, gaining invaluable firsthand experience in daily operations. Additionally, he has interned with a reputable farrier, with plans to attend farrier school to further his expertise in this field.
Since the age of 9, Jason has been immersed in horse riding and competitive events, earning accolades and prizes in the National Cutting Horse Association. Presently, he competes as a team roper for the Lamar Community College Rodeo Team and intends to continue this pursuit post-graduation. Not content with merely competing, Jason also trains his own horses for various disciplines including cutting, roping, and other ranch-related events. His vision for the future revolves around ranching, where he aims to raise cattle and continue training horses, solidifying his place in the industry.
